EL PARRANDON DE LA GRAN MANZANA
featuring VICTOR ROQUE, HENRY HIERRO, PABLO MARTINEZ, WILLIE GOMEZ, VICTOR BRITO, TONY VALDEZ, with JOSE ALBERTO "EL CANARIO" and GRUPO D'AHORA
EL PARRANDON DE LA GRAN MANZANA, is a double celebration concert welcoming the arrival of the Christmas Season and the long awaited REUNION of the original founders of La Gran Manzana - Victor Roque and Henry Hierro, as well as the leading members; Willy Gomez, Pablo Martinez, Victor Brito and Tony Valdez!
For more than 40 years, La Gran Manzana has represented New York City as the most complete Merengue Orchestra. It is a great honor that, after a brief absence from the stage, they are once again reunited to perform at Lehman Center for a one of a kind concert.
The merengue band "La Gran Manzana", got the name from "The Big Apple" in Spanish translation; as homage to the city that all the members lived in at time. Recognized as the most successful musical orchestra in the 80's and 90's with such energetic hits such as "Molé Molé," "Vamos a Beber," and "Mentirosa." It will be a nostalgic night with songs like "Tus Besos," "Donde estas vida mía," "Por tú querer," "Cuando llegarás," " Rosa Blanca" – the merengue hits that fans have been eager to hear!
As part of this night of excitement, GRUPO D'AHORA will perform at Lehman Center for the first time! They specialize in typical merengue music with a modern twist without losing the classic sound of the oldest genres in the Dominican Republic.
To top off the night, the great Salsa Showman and Lehman Center favorite, JOSE ALBERTO "El Canario", will perform as the special guest.
