Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is recognized as one of New Yorks premier showcase for international music, dance and theatre. The center is conveniently located on the tree-lined campus of Lehman College in the northwest Bronx, south of Van Cortland Park and west of the New York Botanical Garden, between Kingsbridge and Bedford Park Boulevard along the Jerome Park Reservoir. Lehman Center is easily accessible by public transportation and car, with free attended parking on the weekends for 1,000 cars.
From New Jersey, East Manhattan, Queens or Brooklyn take the George Washington Bridge, Willis Avenue Bridge, or the Triborough Bridge to the Major Deegan Expressway North (I-87) and exit at Van Cortlandt Park South. (Follow directions below for Van Cortland Park South exit)
Alternate route from New Jersey with toll take the Henry Hudson River Drive to the Mosholu Parkway Exit. (Follow directions below for Mosholu Parkway exit)
From West Manhattan take the West Side Highway going north. It becomes Henry Hudson Parkway to Mosholu Parkway exit. (Follow directions below for Mosholu Parkway exit)
From Westchester take the New York State Thruway to the Major Deegan Expressway South (I-87) to Van Cortland Park South (becomes Henry Hudson Parkway) to Mosholu Parkway exit. (Follow directions below for Mosholu Parkway exit)
Commercial vehicles should take the Major Deegan Expressway (I-87).
VAN CORTLANDT PARK SOUTH EXIT
At traffic light turn left and proceed up the hill (bearing left with the main road) past Sedgwick Avenue, until you reach Goulden Avenue. Proceed on Goulden for two long blocks to Bedford Park Boulevard West. Parking lots are on your right.
MOSHOLU PARKWAY EXIT
Proceed on long exit ramp to the second traffic light. At traffic light turn right into the center of a traffic island. Continue straight ahead on Paul Avenue for two blocks to Bedford Park Boulevard. At Bedford Park Boulevard turn right and then left onto Goulden Avenue. The parking lots are on your right.
Take the IRT No. 4 Lexington Avenue line or the IND D line to Bedford Park Boulevard station. Walk west (1 block from the No.4 and approximately 3 blocks from the D line) to the campus.
Bronx: The following buses stop near the Lehman College Campus: 1,2,3,9,10,12,22,26,28,32, and 34.
Westchester: From White Plains, Hartsdale, Scarsdale and Yonkers via Central Park Avenue, take the No. 20 or 20x. From Yonkers (Getty Square, South Broadway, McLean Avenue and Central Park Avenue) take the No. 4 bus.
